HOUSTON – No. 3-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball fell to the Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils, 7-5, in the Houston Winter Invitational Saturday, Feb. 1, at Daikin Park in downtown Houston, Texas.
The Mules (1-1) are scheduled to face Jefferson (1-0) in their final game of the Houston Winter Invitational Sunday, Feb. 2, at 1:30 p.m.
Isaiah Keller went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while
Chase Heath and
Vance Tobol each recorded two RBI and a double, leading Central Missouri at the plate in the contest.
UCM right-hander
Jack Scott (0-1) suffered the setback on the mound after allowing four earned runs on four hits with three walks in three innings pitched.
Chaz Poppy went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI and Will Owens was 2-for-4 with a run scored to pace UAM (1-1) offensively.
Arkansas-Monticello reliever Lane Imhoff (1-0) earned the win on the rubber, surrendering no earned runs on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk in two innings of work while Kyle Roop picked up the save after throwing a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning with one strikeout.
