Mules Wrestling's Erickson Earns MIAA Wrestler of the Week Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- University of Central Missouri Mules Wrestling's Anthony Erickson has been voted the MIAA Wrestler of the Week for his performance on the mat during the week of Dec. 15-21, it was announced on Tuesday, Dec. 23, by the conference office. 

Erickson, a senior from Oak Grove, Mo., went 2-1 at the Jack Hancock Duals Dec. 20 in Golden, Colorado. He posted an 8-2 decision over Minnesota State's Grant Cook at 197 pounds before earning a 14-9 decision over Belmont Abbey's No. 15-ranked Kylar Pickard in Central Missouri's second and third matches of the duals. Erickson had a narrow 3-1 loss to No. 21 Colorado Mines' Mason Diel at 197 pounds to open the day.  

The No. 17-ranked Mules are scheduled to travel to Marshall, Minn., for the Iron Mike Duals on Friday, Jan. 9.
