WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Reese Schaaf scored a season-high 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season as the University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball team surged past the Stephens College Stars, 81-46, Thursday evening, Dec. 18, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.
The Jennies (7-4) are scheduled to host William Jewell (0-8) for Hoops for the Holidays on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg. Santa will be making an appearance at Saturday's contest.
Schaaf went 9-of-15 from the floor, 2-of-4 from three-point range, and 4-of-6 at the free-throw line for her 24 points while snagging 10 boards for her double-double.
Jayla Griffith added 11 points,
Hayden Heim netted 10 points, and
Makenzie Farmer dished out a career-best eight assists, rounding out the Central Missouri leaders.
UCM shot 54 percent from the field (28-of-52), 43 percent from three-point range (9-of-21), and were 62 percent at the free-throw line (16-of-26) in the game. Â The Jennies outrebounded the Stars, 42-25, and outscored Stephens in the paint, 34-24, and off turnovers, 23-9.
Central Missouri limited Stephens to just 32 percent shooting from the field (18-of-56) and 21 percent shooting from beyond the arc (4-of-19) in the victory.
Quimari Shelton had 16 points, pacing the Stars.
