SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Reese Schaaf scored 21 points, but the University of Central Missouri women's basketball team fell in its 2025-26 season opener to the University of Mary Marauders, 65-55, Friday, Nov. 14, in the MIAA/NSIC Crossover at the Elmen Center on the Augustana University campus.
Schaaf led the Jennies with 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field and added seven rebounds, while
Taylor Weishaar added 10 points, and freshman
Hayden Heim pulled down a game-best 12 rebounds.
The Jennies (0-1) kept the game close through the first half, trailing 30-26 at the break, but the Marauders (4-0) pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Central Missouri, 19-11, taking a 49-37 lead into the final period.
For the game, UCM shot just 34 percent (21-of-61) from the field and 26 percent (5-of-19) from three-point range. The Jennies went 8-of-10 at the free-throw line for 80 percent, but were outrebounded by UMary, 39-35.
The Marauders also outscored UCM in the paint, 30-28, and off turnovers, 15-11.
UMary was paced by Bergen Kinnebrew, who posted 22 points, while Allison Undlin added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Central Missouri will wrap up the MIAA/NSIC Crossover on Saturday, Nov. 14, when it faces the host Augustana Vikings at 4 p.m. in Sioux Falls.
