Jennies Volleyball Falls to No. 7 Central Oklahoma Friday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The (Receiving Votes) Central Missouri Jennies (15-6, 7-4 MIAA) fell to No. 7 Central Oklahoma Bronchos (22-3, 8-3 MIAA) by a final score of 3-1 (25-12, 19-25, 17-25, 16-25) Friday, Oct. 31, during Halloween Trick or Treat Night, from Dr. Peggy Martin Court, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.     
 
Central Missouri began the match on a 5-0 run, highlighted by a pair of kills from Emma Siron (match-high 12 kills and a team-best 12 digs overall) and Maya Fergerson (10 kills, two blocks, and two digs overall), before taking the opening set 25-12.
 
In the opening frame, Central Missouri outhit the Bronchos by a margin of .577 to .034 as Siron led the charge with six kills, while Parkville, Mo. native Shaye Koski (match-high 12 kills on 23 swings for a career-best .435 hitting percentage) added five kills for good measure.
 
Central Oklahoma claimed victory in the following three sets, earning their 22nd victory of the season, improving to 8-3 in MIAA play, led by Lindsey Houran's double-double performance.
 
Defensively, Central Missouri was paced in the back row by redshirt senior Grace Winkelmann, who collected 12 digs, adding five assists, and five service aces, plus, Aurora, Colo., native Brenna Kelly added seven digs.
 
Setter Kayla Baer recorded a match-high 36 assists and six digs, while senior Rachel Ziesman had five kills and two solo blocks on the evening.
 
Central Missouri continues MIAA play Saturday, Nov. 1, as they host the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions (13-11, 3-8 MIAA), beginning at 2:00 p.m. from Dr. Peggy Martin Court, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
