Jennies Volleyball Sweeps Arkansas-Fort Smith Saturday in Warrensburg

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The (Receiving Votes) Central Missouri Jennies (16-6, 8-4 MIAA) swept the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions (13-12, 3-9 MIAA) by final scores of 25-15, 28-26, 25-20, Saturday, Nov. 1, from Dr. Peggy Martin Court, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.     
 
Central Missouri took the opening set of the match 25-15, highlighted by a 9-2 run with a pair of kills from Rachel Ziesman (match-high 14 kills and three blocks overall), while redshirt sophomore Emma Siron (15 digs, 13 kills, and four assists overall) led the charge offensively, connecting on 6-of-9 swings (.444 hitting percentage), adding four digs and one block for good measure.
 
After an attack error by UAFS tied the second set at 26, Central Missouri took the lead for good with a kill by middle blocker Kaelyn McDonald (eight kills, five digs, and one block overall), before setter Kayla Baer (match-best 43 assists, nine digs, and four kills overall) sealed the 28-26 victory with a kill of her own.
 
The Jens completed their 10th sweep of the season with a 25-20 win in the third, highlighted by an 8-2 run with a pair of kills from outside hitter Shaye Koski (nine kills on 21 swings for a .333 hitting percentage overall), Siron, and Ziesman.
 
Defensively, three Jens recorded double-digit digs, including a match-high 29 from redshirt senior Grace Winkelmann, and 10 from defensive specialist Brenna Kelly, limiting the Lions to a .130 hitting percentage on the afternoon.
 
Blue Springs, Mo. native Ragin Corwin collected eight digs, while outside hitter Maya Fergerson added five kills in the winning effort.
 
Central Missouri continues the 2025 season Tuesday, Nov. 4, as they take on the Drury Panthers (14-9, 4-4 GLVC), beginning at 6:00 p.m., inside the O'Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield.
