WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Six different players scored goals as the No. 18-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team rolled past the Missouri Southern Lions, 6-0, in a MIAA match played on Halloween Friday evening, Oct. 31, at the South Recreation Complex.
The Jennies (10-3-4, 7-1-3 MIAA) are scheduled to host Pittsburg State (12-2-2, 7-1-2 MIAA) on Senior Day Sunday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg. Prior to the match, UCM will honor seniors
Rylie Hughes and
Anna Lack.
Central Missouri scored early and often in the match, getting on the board three minutes into the contest when
Mikayla Ernst scored on a breakaway shot for her team and MIAA-best 12th goal of the season.
UCM went up 2-0 in the 22nd minute after
Jada Dibbini sent an assist from
Aspen Patterson into the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.
The Jennies went into halftime with the two-goal advantage.
Central Missouri continued to put the pedal to the metal in the second stanza, scoring two goals in two minutes when
Coryn Jespersen slotted home a pass from
Patsy O'Brien in the 48th minute for her fourth goal of 2025, and Patterson found the back of the net on an assist from Jespersen in the 50th minute, doubling the Jennies' lead to 4-0. It was Patterson's second goal of the season.
Hughes upped UCM's lead to 5-0 with her first goal of the season via an assist from
Izzy Joyce, prior to
Acacia Weis heading a corner kick from
Sophia Campbell into the back of the net in the 89th minute for her first collegiate goal, sealing the 6-0 triumph for the Jennies.
For the match, UCM outshot Missouri Southern (2-11-3, 0-8-2 MIAA), 19-6, including a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal, and bested the Lions in corner kicks, 6-0.
Central Missouri goalkeepers
Kristen Wright (10-3-4),
Hannah McFarlane, and
Hayleigh Martin kept Missouri Southern off the scoreboard the full 90 minutes, earning UCM's 11th shutout in 2025.
