Jennies Basketball Thumps Lopers Thursday, 62-54

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Reese Schaaf and Taylor Weishaar both posted double-doubles leading Central Missouri Jennies basketball to a 62-54 victory over the Nebraska Kearney Lopers in a MIAA game played Thursday, Jan. 30, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.

The Jennies (13-9, 5-6 MIAA) are scheduled to host No. 8-ranked Fort Hays State (17-2, 8-2 MIAA) in Warrensburg Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m.

Schaaf posted her team and MIAA-best 11th double-double of the season after scoring a game-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and a 6-for-6 performance at the free-throw line and pulling down a game-best 12 rebounds while Weishaar notched her fifth double-double of 2024-25, netting 14 points and snagging 11 rebounds. Allie Clevenger rounded out the UCM leaders for the game, scoring 12 points.

For the game, the Jennies shot 38 percent from the field (23-of-60) and were 11-of-14 at the free-throw line for 79 percent. UCM outrebounded Nebraska Kearney, 46-37, but were outscored by the Lopers in the paint, 32-24, and off turnovers, 12-11.

Jillian Aschoff had 15 points, leading Nebraska Kearney (15-4, 8-2 MIAA).
