UCM Track & Field Records Four Provisional Marks at UCM Invitational Friday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The University of Central Missouri Track & Field team recorded four NCAA-II Provisional marks to highlight action at the annual indoor UCM Invitational Friday, Jan. 24, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.

The Mules and Jennies are scheduled to return to action Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Pittsburg State Wendy's Invitational in Pittsburg, Kan. 

Jumps

• Wyatt Irwin won the men's high jump, clearing a personal-best and provisional height of 2.06m (6-9.00). Zachary Proctor was second with a mark of 2.00m (6-6.75).
• Reagan Ulrich cleared a provisional mark of 5.05m (16-6.75) to win the men's pole vault. His mark ranks seventh in NCAA-II this season.
• Therese Reindl won the women's high jump with a mark of 1.62m (5-03.75). Cate Cooper and Joey Hettinger tied for third, clearing 1.47m (4-09.75).
• The Jennies finished 1-2 in the women's long jump. Mellanie Nellmer won the event with a personal-best mark of 5.58m (18-3.75) while Marissa Austene was second with a personal-best 5.48m (17-11.75).
• The Mules went 2-3-5 in the men's long jump. Jeremy Bennett was runner-up with a mark of 6.66m (21-10.25, Keaton Stone was third with a personal-best mark of 6.54m (21-5.50), and Carter Bell was fifth with a mark of 6.50m (21-4.00).
• Myah Mooris won the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.14m (36-6.75).

Throws

• Rachael Molloy finished first in the women's weight throw with a provisional mark of 18.55m (60-10.50). Kaitlin Peek was third with a personal-best mark of 15.41m (50-6.75), and Madison Mears also compiled a top five performance, placing fifth with a mark of 14.73m (48-4.00).
• Mears won the women's shot put with a mark of 13.25m (43-5.75) while Laken Manns was also in the top five, placing fourth with a mark of 11.42m (37-5.75).
• The Mules finished 1-2-5 in the men's weight throw. Shon Stark won the event with a personal-best mark of 17.19m (56-4.75) while Landon Mason was second with a personal-best mark of 17.00m (55-9.25) and Demarcus Kelow was fifth with a mark of 16.25m (53-3.75).

Sprints/Hurdles

• Parker Wormek ran a provisional time of 7.95 to win the men's 60m hurdles. Jentry Acklin was third with a time of 8.03. Wormek's time ranks fifth-fastest in NCAA Division II this season.
• Emily Meeks ran 7.74 in the women's 60m dash final to finish first. Her time is a personal-best and is tied for eighth-fastest in school history.
• Jackson Carter ran a personal-best 6.99 to place fifth in the men's 60m dash.

Distance

• Evan Finger won the men's one mile run with a time of 4:24.18. Cooper Palmer also finished in the top three for UCM, placing third with a time of 4:26.53.
• Clara Lackman finished in the top five of the women's 800m run, placing fifth with a personal-best time of 2:35.24.
• Cosmas Kiprop won the men's 3,000m run with a personal-best time of 8:32.85. Alejandro Malave also had a top five finish for the Mules, placing third with a time of 8:54.73.

Relays

• The Jennies 4x400m relay of Brooklynn Holtman, Anayla Waters, Emerson Shelton and Cortney Knutson ran 3:57.01 to place first.
• The Mules 4x400m relay of Michael James, Yunus Altinay, Brayden Blackman and Tyler Venenga placed first with a time of 3:25.97.
• The Mules distance medley relay of Sam Mathis, Jackson Rooney, Evan Finger and Gavin Curp ran 11:01.70 to place first while the Jennies relay of Clara Lackman, Ella Jett, Chloee Belgum and Callie Manning ran 14:07.75 to also finish first.
