KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jennies softball senior outfielder
Abby Allnutt has been named the MIAA's "A" Game Scholar for the second consecutive year, announced by the conference office on Wednesday, May 1.
Established by the MIAA in 2022, the
Mammoth "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award acknowledges the overall excellence of a student-athlete by recognizing one individual who has contributed to their team's success, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. The student-athlete honored with the "A Game" Scholar-Athlete Award must be an active member of a qualifying team and must have a minimum of two terms completed at the institution.
A native of Warrensburg, Allnutt has a perfect 4.0 grade point average while obtaining her BFA in Graphic Design, a certificate in Web Media, and a minor in Spanish with 150 credits completed.
Abby has played in 48 of the Jens' 49 games this season batting .221 with 30 hits overall including 10 for extra bases with 14 RBI and a .987 fielding percentage for good measure.
Allnutt will be honored with the MIAA "A" Game award, presented by
Mammoth, before first pitch of No. 8 Central Missouri's game with No. 9 Missouri Southern slated for 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, in the opening round of the 2024 MIAA Softball Championships from Gerry Pinkston Stadium in Edmond, Okla.
