WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 3 Central Missouri Mules baseball scored 10 runs in the first four innings taking down the Northwest Missouri Bearcats (8-11, 1-6 MIAA) by a final score of 14-0 (7 inn.) on Friday afternoon from Crane Stadium/Thompkins Field in Warrensburg.
The Mules (17-3, 6-1 MIAA) and Bearcats are slated to play game two of the series Saturday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m. in Warrensburg.
UCM plated a pair of runs in the first followed by a single run in the second, two in the third and five in the fourth en route to their 17
th victory of the season.
Max Holy went 3-for-4 on the day with three RBI and two runs scored while belting his fourth home run on the season – a two-run shot in the sixth – while
Carter Young was 3-for-5 at the dish scoring twice pacing UCM offensively. Six Mules recorded multi-hit performances including
Josh Patrick,
Vance Tobol,
Cole Moore, and
Chase Heath while nine total batters reached base safely.
Central Missouri outhit the Bearcats 16-3 on the afternoon as
Conner Wolf (5-0) picked up his fifth win on the season allowing just three hits while striking out three on 73 pitches in the complete-game effort.
