Jennies Softball Sweeps Doubleheader with Bemidji State Friday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies (10-13, 1-3) swept a pair of games against the Bemidji State Beavers (6-13, 0-0) by final scores of 3-0 and 2-1 on Friday, March 15, from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.

The Jens return to the diamond on Tuesday, March 19, as they continue a 12-game homestand with a doubleheader against the Lincoln Blue Tigers (8-14, 0-0) with first pitch of game one scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.

Game 1: Central Missouri 3, Bemidji State 0
The Jens struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning off the bat of shortstop Jadyn Sheffield (scoring Hayden Serna) before adding a pair of insurance runs in the fourth with an RBI single from center fielder Aubrie McRoberts (scoring Abby Allnutt and Halle Howes).

Freshman Brooke Weimer (4-5) picked up the victory in the circle allowing just three hits while striking out six batters for her fifth complete game of the season as five Jens collected a hit in the contest including Lexi Blackmon, Allnutt, Howes, Sheffield, and McRoberts.

Game 2: Central Missouri 2, Bemidji State 1
The Beavers got on the scoreboard with a single run in the top of the first inning but would be denied the rest of the way as Amanda Hansen (2-1) earned the victory in the circle while Andi Siebeneck earned her first career save combining for two innings of no-hit ball in relief of starter Kaylee Diggs who tossed five innings striking out three.

Central Missouri tied the game in the third with an RBI double from Hayden Serna (scoring Laney Killpack) before Killpack's RBI single (scoring McRoberts) in the bottom of the sixth proved to be the difference as Killpack and Blackmon each collected multi-hit performances pacing UCM offensively.
