WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Mules (11-13, 6-12) fell to No. 18 Fort Hays State Tigers (20-5, 15-4) by a final score of 51-47 on Saturday afternoon inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
The Tigers led by three at the break and held off a late Central Missouri surge in the second half picking up their 20
th win of the season led by guard Elijah Nnanabu's 14 points and nine rebounds.
Central Missouri had two players total finish in double-figures including forward
Keith Kiner III who had a game-high 15 points and five rebounds while freshman
Tim Jordan Jr. added 14 points, four rebounds, and two steals for good measure.
Guards
Jalen Knott and
Corey Skillman Jr. (two assists) ended the contest with eight points, three rebounds, and two steals each, while redshirt senior
Jordan Hayes grabbed a team-best six rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
Central Missouri returns to the court on Wednesday, Feb. 21, as they continue MIAA play as they take on the Emporia State Hornets scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.
