TIP OFF 
  • Central Missouri Mules basketball continues MIAA play hosting the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers (Thursday, Feb. 15) at 7:30 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building before taking on No. 18 Fort Hays State Tigers (Saturday, Feb. 17) with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside the Jerry Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
  • Thursday's contest against the Lopers will be a "Red Out" theme, where fans are encouraged to wear their red UCM attire.
  • Former UCM Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, the late Jerry Hughes, will be inducted into the UCM Athletic Hall of Fame Saturday morning before the rededication ceremony of the Multipurpose Building to the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center at 11:15 a.m. Hughes served as UCM's AD for 40 years (1983-2023) before passing away in January 2023.
 
ON THE AIR 
  • Both games will be broadcasted on 1450 KOKO, 98.5 The Bar and warrensburgradio.com with the voice of the Mules Greg Hassler and former Mules head coach Kim Anderson on the call.
  • All games will be streamed through the MIAA Network on a pay-per-view basis with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening and 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
 
 MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play. Bohac's teams have made nine post season appearances including four of the previous six seasons being in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022-23, the Storm reached the Sweet Sixteen and in 2019-20 were a two-seed in the tournament.  
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 
 LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Central Missouri Mules (10-12, 5-11) fell to the Missouri Southern Lions (11-12, 9-8) by a final score of 71-62 on Saturday afternoon inside the Leggett & Platt Center in Joplin.
  • The Lions had a seven-point lead at halftime and never relinquished, picking up their 11th win of the season led by forward Darius Dawson's game-high 22 points and seven rebounds.
  • Central Missouri was paced offensively by redshirt senior Keith Kiner III who had 17 points and five rebounds as the Mules outscored Missouri Southern by a margin of 29-7 off the bench.
  • Guard Jalen Knott contributed 15 points and five rebounds while freshman Corey Skillman Jr. added 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists on the afternoon.
  • Forward Noah Martin had six points connecting on both of his attempts from beyond the arc, plus freshman Tim Jordan Jr. added five points and grabbed four rebounds for good measure.
  • UCM outrebounded the Lions 38-35 in the game as guard Jordan Hayes grabbed six rebounds while forward Jack Chapman had four.
 
 UCM BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Through 22 games this season, the Mules are averaging 64 points per game while shooting 40 percent from the field, including 30 percent from beyond the arc and 70 percent from the charity stripe.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 34 rebounds, 10.5 assists, six steals, and three blocks per contest.
  • The Mules have four players averaging double figure scoring this season including guard Jalen Knott (11.4 points, four rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game), redshirt senior Caleb Nero (11 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per contest), forward Tim Jordan Jr. (11 points, four rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game), and redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (10 points, 4.7 rebounds, and one assist per game). 
 
 SERIES HISTORY VS NEBRASKA-KEARNEY
  • Thursday will be the 22nd all-time meeting as UCM holds a 12-9 record including a mark of 6-4 in Warrensburg.
  • Last season inside the Multipurpose Building, the Mules came away with a 62-48 victory as redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley (four rebounds and two blocks) and guard Mikel Henderson contributed 10 points each. 
  • Earlier this season in Kearney, the Mules won 76-73 thanks to redshirt senior Keith Kiner III's career-high 32 points, going 14-of-17 from the field adding a team-best eight rebounds, a team-high four steals, and three assists for good measure.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS #18 FORT HAYS STATE
  • Ahead of Saturday's festivities the Tigers hold an 18-15 overall record in the series dating back to the 1948-49 season.
  • In Warrensburg, the Mules are 9-5 against Fort Hays State following a 57-46 Tiger win last season (Jan. 31).
  • Guard Mikel Henderson led UCM with a game-high 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists while redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley added 11 points and five rebounds.

  • Central Missouri continues MIAA play on Wednesday, Feb. 21, as they take on the Emporia State Hornets (15-10, 8-9) with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.
