Mules Basketball Announces Hiring of Tim Peete as Assistant Coach

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Mules Basketball Head Coach Adam Bohac announces the hiring of Tim Peete as the newest Assistant Coach on Wednesday, October 7.

"He's a great guy and a fantastic coach," Bohac said. "His previous experience in this league at MoWest, along with his time at the division one level as not only a coach, but a tremendous player at the University of Tulsa, will fit seamlessly with the rest of our staff."

Peete, a native of Memphis, Tenn., joins UCM after spending the 2025-26 season at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla. There, he guided recruiting efforts, player development, academic compliance, and the program's overall operations.

Prior to his time with the Dolphins, Peete spent four seasons as an assistant coach at Radford University in Radford, Va. During the 2022-23 campaign, the Highlanders advanced to the CBI Semifinals, becoming the first team in school history to win two postseason games, while developing three Big South Award winners in Bryan Antoine, DaQuan Smith, and Kenyon Giles.

Peete is no stranger to the MIAA, as he was a member of Will Martin's staff at Missouri Western, which went 14-11 overall, and 13-9 in conference play during the 2020-21 season.

Tim began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at UNC-Greensboro, then served as an assistant coach at Chipola College in Marianna, Fla., before returning to the Spartans as the Director of Player Development for the 2019-20 season.

Peete was a three-time captain at the University of Tulsa, where he led the Golden Hurricanes to Conference-USA regular-season and tournament titles in 2014, earning a trip to the national tournament.

Peete graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from Tulsa in 2014, before earning a master's degree in applied arts & sciences from UNC-Greensboro in 2018.

The Mules begin the 2026-27 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 7, as they take on the Gannon Golden Knights at 10:00 a.m. (CST), in the opening game of the 2026 Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, inside Jenkins Fieldhouse, on the campus of Florida Southern University, in Lakeland, Fla.
