JOPLIN, Mo. – Central Missouri Jennies soccer posted a 6-0, shutout win over the Missouri Southern Lions Friday evening, Nov. 1, in a MIAA match played at Hal Bodon Field.
The Jennies (11-4-2, 8-2-1 MIAA) are scheduled to face Pittsburg State (7-7-2, 3-5-2 MIAA) in their 2024 regular season finale Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. in Pittsburg, Kan.
UCM jumped out to an early lead, 1-0, when
Ashleigh Martin scored 11 minutes into the match.
Lexie Ruf doubled Central Missouri's advantage to 2-0 just three minutes later with her fourth goal of the season.
Martin tallied her second goal of the contest and team-best ninth goal of 2024 five minutes out of halftime in the 50th-minute, upping the Jenny lead to 3-0 prior to
Patsy O'Brien posting her second goal of the season in the 66th-minute, ballooning Central Missouri's advantage to 4-0.
Ellie Rogers made it 5-0, Jens, in the 76th-minute with her first-career goal off an assist from
Aspen Patterson before
Ava Lunders scored her third goal of 2024 off Patterson's second assist of the match in the 88th-minute, sealing Central Missouri's 6-0 victory.
For the match, UCM outshot Missouri Southern (1-11-4, 0-8-2 MIAA), 19-1, including a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Jennies also compiled 10 corner kicks compared to just one for the Lions.

Sydney Beck, who made one save in 20 minutes, to secure Central Missouri's fourth combined shutout of 2024.
