PITTSBURG, Kan. – Central Missouri Jennies soccer wrapped up its 2024 regular season schedule with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburg State Gorillas Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Gorilla Soccer Pitch.
The Jennies (12-4-2, 9-2-1 MIAA) will host a first-round MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament match Sunday, Nov. 10, at the South Recreation Complex at a to be announced time against a to be determined opponent.
Andree Orcutt put Central Missouri ahead, 1-0, in the 38th-minute with her fourth goal of the season.
Pittsburg State (7-8-2, 3-6-2 MIAA) leveled the match, 1-1, with a goal in the 52nd-minute but UCM answered, taking a 2-1 lead after
Izzy Joyce took a pass from
Ashleigh Martin and powered it into the back of the net for her seventh goal of 2024.
For the match, UCM outshot Pittsburg State, 16-10, including an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Jennies also bested the Gorillas in corner kicks, 8-2.
Central Missouri goalkeeper
Kristen Wright (12-4-2) earned the victory in goal, giving up one goal while making one save in 90 minutes.
