KEARNEY, Neb. – No. 11-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball fell to Nebraska Kearney in overtime, 79-74, in a MIAA contest Saturday afternoon, Jan. 6, inside the Health & Sports Center.
The Jennies (10-3, 4-3 MIAA) are scheduled to return home to the UCM Multipurpose Building to host the Washburn Ichabods (10-3, 5-2 MIAA) Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 5:30 p.m.
Olivia Nelson netted 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field and a 3-of-4 performance at the free-throw line and had fives assists while
Brooke Littrell added 22 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season, leading Central Missouri.
The Lopers (12-2, 6-2 MIAA) outscored UCM in the fourth quarter, 24-12, and in overtime, 14-9, to overcome a 12-point third quarter deficit and post the victory.
For the game, Central Missouri shot 42 percent from the field (28-of-66), 27 percent from three-point range (6-of-22) and 71 percent from the free-throw line (12-of-17). UCM was outrebounded by Nebraska Kearney, 38-32, and outscored in the paint, 46-32.
Meg Burns had 19 points, while Jillian Aschoff added 17 points, pacing the Lopers.
