KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Central Missouri Mules Wrestling swept at the Avila Duals Saturday, Jan 6., going 2-0 for the weekend.
In their first dual against Dakota Wesleyan, the Mules won 37-10.
At 125-pounds,
Jacob Tangpricha pinned Wesleyan's Jaxson Irvine for a quick 6 points.
At 141-pounds,
Kaden Stanley won a 5-4 decision over Zach Zitek to put the Mules up 3.
Derek Torza added another 5 points at 149-pounds with a techfall (19-3) over Zach Kolbe.
At 165-pounds,
John Ridle forced an 18-10 major decision against Kaleb Bigelow, putting the Mules up 12-10.
Nolan Saale extended the Mules lead by 3 more points with a 4-2 decision against Lane Miller at 174-pounds.
The Tigers had an open spot at 184-pounds giving the Mules 6 more points and
Paul Hernandez a win.
Brayden Dillow and
Trent Strong put away the match for the Mules with a combined 10 point victory. Dillow earned a major decision (10-2) over Colten Hink at 197-pounds and Strong pinned Cole Hennings at heavy weight.
In their second dual against Avila, the Mules also won 39-10.
Tangpricha won at 125-pounds with a 5-4 decision over Tyler Johnson, putting the Mules on the board first.
Stanley earned a shut out, 15-0, techfall against Jacob Ramirez for a quick 5 points at 141-pounds.
Torza gave the Mules 6 more points by pinning Terrell Carter-Williams at 149-pounds.
At 157-pounds,
Conner Johnston earned a major decision by shutting out Karter Brink (11-0).
Ridle earned a 16-1 techfall over Jake Callahan at 165-pounds, earning the Mules a quick 5 points.
The Eagles were open at 174-pounds, giving
Nolan Saale a victory and putting the Mules up 26-9.
Dillow pinned Blake Becker at 197-pounds, tacking on 6 more points and
Hunter Tennison finished the match with a shut out major decision (9-0) at heavy weight over Gavin Howes.
