HAYS, Kan. – The Central Missouri Mules (5-6, 0-5) fell to the Fort Hays State Tigers (10-3, 5-2) by a final score of 61-51 on Thursday night inside Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays, Kan.
The Tigers led by seven at the break and never relinquished led by guard Kaleb Hammeke's 17 points, seven rebounds, and three assists respectively.
Central Missouri had three players finish the contest in double figures including guard
Caleb Nero's game-high 18 points, going 5-for-11 from the floor including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc while grabbing a team-best five rebounds.
Freshman
Tim Jordan Jr. contributed 13 of the Mules' 17 bench points on the night connecting on four-of-six attempts from the field adding three rebounds for good measure, plus guard
Jalen Knott had 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Redshirt senior
Jordan Hayes ended the contest with a career and game-high seven assists, four rebounds, and two points while guard
Corey Skillman Jr. collected three points and two rebounds.
UCM returns to the court on Saturday, Jan. 6, as they continue MIAA play on the road against the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers with tip-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m. inside the Health & Sports Center in Kearney, Neb.
