TIP OFF 
  • Central Missouri Mules basketball continues MIAA play with a pair of matchups at home against No. 21 Northwest Missouri Bearcats (Thursday, Jan. 25) at 7:30 p.m. before taking on No. 22 Missouri Western Griffons (Saturday, Jan. 27) with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo.
  • Thursday's contest will be the annual Black Out Game where fans are encouraged to sport their black UCM gear as the Mules take on their long-standing rivals from Maryville, students will receive a free black t-shirt (while supplies last). At halftime, Central Missouri's football team will be recognized for capturing the 2023 MIAA Regular Season Championship under second year head coach Josh Lamberson.
 
 
 ON THE AIR 
  • Both games will be broadcasted on 1450 KOKO, 98.5 The Bar and warrensburgradio.com with the voice of the Mules Greg Hassler on the call.
  • All games will be streamed through the MIAA Network on a pay-per-view basis with coverage beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening and 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
 
 
MEET THE MULES
  • Adam Bohac was named the 25th head coach in the 118-year history of Central Missouri Mules basketball in March of 2023 after 15 seasons as head coach of the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm where he had an overall record of 312-146 including 221-98 in GAC play. Bohac's teams have made nine post season appearances including four of the previous six seasons being in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022-23, the Storm reached the Sweet Sixteen and in 2019-20 were a two-seed in the tournament.  
  • The Mules are coming into 2023 with eleven of their 15 student-athletes having never stepped on the court for UCM.
  • Central Missouri returns four players from last year's team including guard Jordan Hayes and forwards Jack Chapman, Ben Fritz, and Yafet Haile.
  • The Mules brought in Division I transfers Caleb Nero (North Dakota) and Keith Kinner III (Niagara).
  • Other transfers include Jalen Knott (Alderson Broaddus), Terrance Broughton (Malone), Raeshaun Ambris (Moberly Area CC), and Josh Nwankwo (New Mexico JC).
  • The Mules added five freshman including guards KJ Vasser, Corey Skillman Jr., and Max Dowling, plus, forwards Noah Martin and Tim Jordan Jr.
 

LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Central Missouri Mules (9-7, 4-6) fell to the Rogers State Hillcats (10-7, 7-4) by a final score of 70-64 on Saturday afternoon inside the Claremore Expo Center.    
  • RSU led by three at the break and were able to come away with their 10th win of the season led by guard Kofi Hamilton's 18 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, and two assists respectively.
  • Central Missouri had two players finish the contest in double-figures including redshirt senior Keith Kiner III who had a game-high 25 points and a team-high seven rebounds while guard Jordan Hayes had 12 points and two rebounds for good measure.
  • Junior Jalen Knott contributed eight points and two rebounds, plus guards Corey Skillman Jr. (seven points) and Caleb Nero (five points and a game-high two steals) grabbed three rebounds each.
  • Freshman Tim Jordan Jr. had six points and five rebounds and forward Yafet Haile collected five rebounds on the afternoon.
 
 
UCM BY THE NUMBERS 
  • Through 16 games this season, the Mules are averaging 65.2 points per game while shooting 41 percent from the field, including 31 percent from beyond the arc and 72 percent from the charity stripe.
  • Central Missouri is averaging 34 rebounds, 10.6 assists, six steals, and 2.5 blocks per contest.
  • The Mules have four players averaging double figure scoring this season including redshirt senior Caleb Nero (12.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and one steal per contest), guard Jalen Knott (12 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.4 steals per game), redshirt senior Keith Kiner III (11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks per contest), and forward Tim Jordan Jr. (10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game). 
 

SERIES HISTORY VS #21 NORTHWEST MISSOURI
  • Ahead of Thursday night's matchup, this will be the 226th meeting all-time between the Mules and Bearcats dating back to the 1919-20 season with Central Missouri having a 70-37 advantage in Warrensburg.   
  • Northwest claimed victory in their lone meeting last season in Maryville 73-52 in January of 2023 as forward Wes Dreamer led the Bearcats with 21 points adding four rebounds and three assists.
  • The Mules had two players finish the contest in double figures including Mikel Henderson (14 points, shooting 2-of-7 from three-point range) and Jack Chapman (10 points, five rebounds, and two steals) respectively.
 

SERIES HISTORY VS #22 MISSOURI WESTERN
  • Saturday's contest will be the 76th meeting between the Mules and the Griffons as UCM leads the all-time series 43-32, including a record of 26-8 in Warrensburg.  
  • The Mules have won 11 of the last 13 outings inside the Multipurpose Building following an 83-46 win over Missouri Western in January of 2022 led by guard Ja'Cor Nelson's double-double performane (22 points and 13 rebounds). 
  • In their lone matchup last season in St. Joseph, the Mules overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half to win 79-74 as redshirt senior Gaven Pinkley had a game-high 26 points and five rebounds.
