No. 20 Jennies Soccer Turns Back UMary Sunday, 3-1

MANKATO, Minn. – No. 20-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer posted a 3-1 victory over the UMary Marauders Sunday afternoon, Sept. 10, at The Pitch in Mankato, Minn.

The Jennies (2-2) are scheduled to travel to MIAA foe Missouri Southern for a non-conference match Friday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m. in Joplin, Mo.

UCM struck early, gaining a 1-0 advantage just 11 minutes into the match when freshman Mikayla Ernst netted her team-best third goal of the season.

Sophomore Anna Lack doubled the Jennies' lead to 2-0 with her first goal of 2023 just before halftime in the 41st-minute.

Redshirt junior Caroline Cole provided the final goal for Central Missouri, scoring her first goal of the season in the 53rd-minute, upping UCM's lead to 3-0.

The Marauders (1-2-1) netted a goal just before the end of the match in the 89th-minute for the 3-1 final score.

Ernst tallied four shots and three shots on goal and Cole added three shots with two shots on goal, pacing the Jennies offensively for the contest.

UCM goalkeeper Kristen Wright (1-1-0) earned the victory between the pipes after giving up one goal and making two saves in 90 minutes.

MaLiah Burke netted UMary's lone goal of the match to lead the Marauders.

Marauder goalkeeper Molly Fisher (1-2-1) suffered the setback in goal, allowing three goals while making six saves in 90 minutes.
