PITTSBURG, Kan. – Central Missouri track & field has numerous impressive performances at the 15th annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic Saturday, April 8, at Carnie Smith Stadium on the Pittsburg State University campus.
Relays
Pole Vault
- Madi Wulfekotter captured the women's pole vault title after clearing a provisional height of 4.06m (13-3.75). Molly Greene also placed in the top-10, finishing 10th with a mark of 3.21m (10-6.50).
- The Mules went 1-2 in the men's pole vault as Jack Hodge finished first and Reagan Ulrich was second. Hodge won after clearing a personal-best-tying and provisional height of 5.27m (17-3.50) while Ulrich cleared a provisional 5.07m (16-7.50). Hodge's mark ranks sixth-best in outdoor school history.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Antonio Lay finished first in both the 100m and 200m dashes. In the 100m, he clocked a provisional time of 10.34 in the 100 before running a provisional 20.83 in the 200.
- Brooklynn Holtman compiled a pair of personal-best performances in the 100m and 200m dashes. She finished 10th in the 100 with a time of 12.34 prior to placing fifth in the 200 at 24.99. Lenetta Lee also compiled a top-10 finish in the 200, posting a time of 25.60, placing ninth.
- Myah Morris finished sixth in the women's 100m hurdles with a personal-best time of 15.70.
- The Mules had three top-10 showings in the men's 110m hurdles. Brayden Blackman ran a personal-best 15.39, finishing sixth, while Clay Carbajal was ninth with a personal-best 15.63 and Vincent Wilson was 10th at 15.78. Blackman also posted a top-10 showing in the men's 400m hurdles, placing sixth at 55.02.
- Jana Shawver clocked a time of 57.73 to place fifth in the women's 400m dash.
- A pair of Mules had top-10 performances in the men's 800m run. Brian Mitei was runner-up with a personal-best 1:51.75 while Evan Finger placed ninth at 1:55.65. Mitei's time is the seventh-fastest in school history.
- Two Jennies placed in the top-10 of the 800m run as Cynthia Togom finished eighth with a personal-best time of 2:23.55 and Chloee Belgum took ninth with a personal-best 2:23.68.
Distance/Steeplechase
- Paul Korir won the men's 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:38.04. Bryan O'Barr finished fourth at 9:45.94.
- Risper Mengich took fourth in the women's 3,000m steeplechase at 12:00.60.
- Katie Bean and Cynthia Togom finished in the top-10 of the women's 1,500m run. Bean placed third at 4:44.23 while Togom was fifth at 4:49.08.
Throws
- Rachael Molloy compiled a pair of runner-up performances in the hammer throw and discus. Molloy posted a provisional throw of 56.14m (184-2) in the hammer before tallying a throw of 41.91m (137-6) in the discus.
- Addison Snowball placed second in the discus with a provisional mark of 53.59m (175-10) and finished seventh in the hammer after compiling a personal-best mark of 54.77m (179-8).
- Abby Vogel threw a personal-best 50.07m (164-3) to finish in fifth in the hammer. She also placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 12.26m (40-2.75).
- Madison Mears placed seventh in the shot put with a mark of 12.15m (39-10.25).
Jumps
- Evans Yamoah captured the men's high jump with a provisional height of 2.12m (6-11.5). His mark is eighth-best in school history.
- Two Jennies finished in the top-10 of the women's long jump as Maggie Klover tied her personal-best with a mark of 5.59m (18-4) to finish third and Aubree Bell was ninth at 4.95m (16-3).
- Three Jennies placed in the top-10 of the women's triple jump. Klover was runner-up with a mark of 11.61m (38-1), Camryn Holloman finished third at 11.48m (37-8) and Myah Morris was fourth at 11.24m (36-10.5).
- Carter Bell finished fifth in the men's triple jump with a jump of 13.75m (45-1.25).
- Therese Reindl placed eighth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.58m (5-2.25).
- Loch Louis picked up a top-10 finish in the men's long jump, placing ninth with a mark of 6.61m (21-8.25).
The Mules and Jennies are scheduled to host the annual Outdoor Mule Relays Friday, April 14, in Warrensburg.
