Jennies Softball Drops Both of Doubleheader at Rockhurst Tuesday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies (31-16, 15-7) dropped both games of their doubleheader with the Rockhurst Hawks (17-19, 10-5) by final scores of 5-0 and 10-2 (5 inn.) on Tuesday, April 18, from Loyola Park Softball Field in Kansas City.

The Jens are scheduled to return to the diamond on Friday, April 28, as they take on the Northwest Missouri Bearcats for a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. from Bearcat Field in Maryville, Mo
.     
Game 1: Rockhurst 5, Central Missouri 0
The Hawks opened the scoring with an RBI single in the bottom of the second and four additional runs in the third taking a 5-0 lead. Paige Petefish (10-4) suffers the loss in the circle while Ashlyn Cook and Jessica Sader collected the lone hits for the Jens offensively.
 
Game 2: Rockhurst 10, Central Missouri 2 (5 inn.)
Rockhurst began the scoring in game two with a single run in the bottom of the first, but thanks to a solo homer from MaKenzie Cooper (her fourth of the season) Central Missouri tied the game in the top of the second. The Hawks responded with seven runs in the following half inning and a pair in the third taking a 10-1 lead.  

The Jennies responded with an RBI single from Peyton Corrigan that scored Lexi Blackmon in the top of the fourth as Kaylee Diggs (5-6) is tagged with the loss while Abbey Fischer went 2-3 at the plate to lead UCM respectively.
