WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Wasburn Ichabods scored five runs in the top of the ninth inning to rally from a 9-7 deficit and defeat the No. 24-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball team, 12-9, Saturday, April 1, at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
The Mules (23-9, 15-4 MIAA) and Ichabods (21-12, 14-5 MIAA) are scheduled to play the series finale of the three-game MIAA series Sunday, April 2, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.
Jack Schark went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI while
Cole Moore was also 3-for-5 with a double, his second homer of the season and three runs driven in, leading Central Missouri at the plate.
UCM reliever
Wyatt Clark (0-1) suffered the loss on the mound after allowing five runs – four earned – on three hits with one walk in two-thirds of an inning.
Cale Savage went 3-for-5 with a double, home run and four RBI, pacing Washburn offensively.
Ichabod reliever Griffin Huiatt (2-1) earned the win on the rubber, giving up no earned runs on one hit in 1 1/3 innings while Charlie Kiefer secured his third save of the season after getting the final two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
