Game 1: Missouri Southern 3, Central Missouri 2 (8 inn.)
In game one of the day, Central Missouri struck first thanks to a McKenzie McAtee RBI groundout scoring shortstop
Abbey Fischer in the bottom of the second inning. The Lions responded with a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth, as this one needed extra innings to be decided.
In the top of the eighth, the Lions would get a two-RBI single from Kara Amos which proved to be the difference as the Jens would get a run in the bottom of the inning off the bat of McAtee with a solo homer (her third of the season) but Missouri Southern held firm for the victory.
Paige Petefish (3-2) suffered the loss throwing 6 1/3 innings allowing three hits, one run (one earned run) and striking out three Lions on 128 pitches, while right fielder
Lexi Blackmon and second baseman
Aubrie McRoberts each led UCM at the plate going 2-3.
Game 2: Missouri Southern 10, Central Missouri 5
In the finale, the Lions got on the board first with a pair of runs in the second and adding another in the third, but an RBI double from
Jessica Sader in the bottom of the fourth cut the lead to 3-1. Missouri Southern responded with a six-run fifth inning but the Jennies quickly responded with a three-run homerun off the bat of left fielder
Ashlyn Cook (her third of the year) cutting the deficit to 9-4.
The Lions would plate another insurance run in the sixth, but UCM responded with a
MaKenzie Cooper RBI double that scored McRoberts as MSSU captured the 10-5 win. Sophomore
Mandy Hansen (1-2) suffers the loss in the circle for UCM as Sader went 2-3 leading the team offensively.
