HOUSTON, Texas – A four-run sixth inning helped No. 13-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball rally from an early deficit and post a 7-5 victory over the Flagler Saints in the Houston Winter Invitational Sunday afternoon, Feb. 5, at Minute Maid Park.

The Mules (1-2) are scheduled to host Arkansas Tech (1-2) in a four-game series at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field Feb. 10-12.

Central Missouri trailed 5-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning before plating four runs to take a 7-5 advantage.

Jack Schark led-off the inning with a single down the right field line before stealing second base and scoring on Cole Moore's RBI single through the left side, bringing the Mules within 5-4. After Moore stole second, Brennen van Breusegen roped an RBI triple to right-center, scoring Moore and knotting the game, 5-5. John Prudhom put an exclamation mark on the inning for UCM, crushing a 1-2 pitch into the left-field seats for a two-run homer, his third home run in three games, giving Central Missouri the 7-5 advantage.

UCM pitchers Ethan Peterson and Wyatt Clark took over from there, throwing scoreless seventh, eighth and ninth innings to secure the win for the Mules.

Prudhom finished the game 2-for-4 with a home run, double and two RBI while van Breusegen was 2-for-4 with a triple, his first of the season, and RBI, and Carter Young, Vance Tobol and Adamo Stornello added two hits, pacing UCM at the plate.

Peterson (1-0) earned the victory on the mound after throwing two innings and allowing no earned runs on just one hit with one strikeout and one walk while Clark secured his first career save, tossing the final two innings and surrendering no earned runs on no hits with a strikeout.

Simms Owens went 2-for-3 with an RBI, leading Flagler (0-3).

Dylan Faulkner (0-1) took the loss on the rubber for the Saints, giving up three earned runs on four hits and failing to record an out.
