- No. 12-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball (19-3, 15-3 MIAA) is scheduled to host its final two home games of the regular season Thursday, Feb. 16, against Emporia State (13-11, 8-10 MIAA) and Saturday, Feb. 18, against Washburn (10-14, 6-12 MIAA) inside the UCM Multipurpose Building. UCM will face the Lady Hornets of Emporia State at 5:30 p.m. Thursday before hosting the Washburn Ichabods for Senior Day and Hall of Fame Day Saturday at 1 p.m.
- The Jennies are coming off a split of two MIAA road contests last week, falling at then No. 11-ranked Nebraska Kearney Feb. 9, 60-57, before defeating Fort Hays State Feb. 11, 71-64.
- Through 22 games, the Jennies are paced by redshirt sophomores Brooke Littrell (19.5 ppg., 8.9 rpg., .497 FG%, .354 3FG%, .859 FT%, 45 A, 24 Blk, 32 Stl), Olivia Nelson (12.9 ppg., 3.3 rpg., .498 FG%, .344 3FG%, .904 FT%, 91 A, 30 Stl) and Lauren Frost (8.3 ppg., 3.6 rpg., .361 FG%, 87 A, 34 Stl), and junior Ashley Tull (9.1 ppg., 5.4 rpg., .535 FG%, 38 Blk, 14 Stl).
- As a team, UCM is averaging 75.4 points and 40.3 rebounds per game and shooting 46.3 percent from the field while holding its opponents to 60.0 points and 32.0 rebounds per game and a 36.4 percent field-goal percentage.
- The Jennies are 10th in all of NCAA Division II in field-goal percentage through 22 games at 46.3 percent. - Brooke Littrell scored 19 points and Olivia Nelson added 18 points leading the No. 10-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball team to a 71-64 victory over the Fort Hays State Tigers Saturday afternoon, Feb. 11, inside Gross Memorial Coliseum. It marked the first victory in Hays, Kan., for UCM women's basketball since 2010.
- Littrell, a redshirt sophomore from Green City, Mo., compiled her game-high 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor and a 7-of-9 showing at the free-throw line while snagging a game-best 13 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. Nelson, a redshirt sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., went 5-of-11 from the floor, including a 2-for-4 performance from three-point range, and was a perfect 6-for-6 at the foul line for her 18 points. Nelson also dished out a team-high six assists and pulled down five rebounds.
- Lauren Frost (11 points) and Ashley Tull (10 points) also scored in double figures for the Jennies.
- For the game, UCM went 26-of-57 from the field for 46 percent and 15-of-20 at the free-throw line for 75 percent. Central Missouri dominated the glass, outrebounding Fort Hays State (19-8, 14-5 MIAA), 35-26, and outscored the Tigers in the paint, 36-28.
Last Time Out vs. Emporia State
- Five players scored in double figures lifting No. 7-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball to an 80-64 victory over the Emporia State Lady Hornets inside William L. White Auditorium Saturday afternoon, Jan. 7.
- Brooke Littrell led UCM with 18 points on 5-of-12 shooting and a perfect 6-of-6 performance at the free-throw line while Lauren Frost and Graycen Holden each tallied 13 points, Kade Hackerott added 12 points and a team-best seven rebounds, and Olivia Nelson compiled her first double-double of the season with 10 points and a game and career-high 10 assists.
- Nelson's 10 assists mark the first time since 2016 a Jenny has tallied at least 10 assists in a game.
- Central Missouri shot 48 percent from the field for the game, going 23-of-48, and were a season-best 52 percent from three-point range, converting 12 out of 23 attempts. The Jennies went 22-of-26 at the free-throw line for 85 percent and outrebounded the Lady Hornets, 36-27.
Last Time Out vs. Washburn
- Seventh-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball outscored Washburn, 23-10, in the fourth quarter to take control of the game and post a 67-53 victory over the Ichabods Thursday night, Jan. 5, inside Lee Arena.
- Redshirt sophomore Brooke Littrell led all scorers in the win, tallying 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting and a perfect 7-of-7 showing at the free-throw line while Graycen Holden added 12 points and went 6-for-6 at the foul line, Ashley Tull netted 10 points and tied her career-best with five blocks, and Kade Hackerott pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds, rounding out the UCM leaders for the contest.
- The Jennies shot just 37 percent from the field for the game, going 26-of-63, but were 7-of-11 in the fourth quarter for 64 percent. UCM went 5-of-12 from three-point range (42 percent) and were an impressive 16-of-19 at the free-throw line for 84 percent.
- Central Missouri controlled the glass, outrebounding Washburn, 44-34, and won the turnover battle, 16-12.
Individual Milestones
- UCM head coach Dave Slifer is six wins away from tallying his 400th victory as head coach of the Jennies. Slifer is an impressive 394-169 in his 19 seasons as the Central Missouri women's basketball head coach. He's already the winningest head coach in both UCM and MIAA women's basketball history, and the second-winningest coach in NCAA Division II history (778 career victories in 33 seasons).
A Streak for the Record Books
- UCM's 16 consecutive wins to start the season set a new mark for the best start in program history, surpassing the 15 straight victories in 1995-96.
- The streak was snapped when Central Missouri fell at Missouri Western Jan. 21, 66-63.
Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back: Littrell Earns Fourth Consecutive MIAA Athlete of the Week Honor
- Brooke Littrell became the first MIAA basketball student-athlete (men's or women's) since at least 2011-12 to earn four consecutive Athlete of the Week honors after her performance on the court during the week of Jan. 9-15.
Jennies in the Rankings
- UCM is ranked No. 12 in the most recent WBCA Division II Coaches' Poll and No. 19 in the latest D2SIDA Division II Media Poll.
- In the first NCAA-II Central Region rankings released Wednesday, Feb. 15, the Jennies are listed alphabetically as one of the teams "under consideration" to be regionally ranked.
- Central Missouri was picked third in the 2022-23 MIAA Preseason Media Poll and fifth in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. UCM received three first-place votes and 218 points in the media poll and 127 points in the coaches' poll.

The 2023 MIAA Basketball Championships are set for March 1-5 at historical Municipal Auditorium in downtown Kansas City, Mo. Tickets can be purchased at all 14 MIAA campus box offices and on Ticketmaster. Fans can once again save $25 on All-Tournament passes by purchasing them at campus box offices ahead of time.
