HAYS, Kan. – The Central Missouri Mules (11-13, 7-11) fell to the Fort Hays State Tigers (17-8, 12-7) by a final score of 60-51 on Saturday, Feb. 11, inside Gross Memorial Coliseum in Hays.
After the Tigers began the contest on a 10-2 run, the Mules responded with a 13-5 run tying the game at 15 but trailed at the break by nine. Fort Hays State was led by Bjarni Jonsson's game-high 15 points and five rebounds.
Sophomore
Jack Chapman led UCM with 12 points, one rebound and one steal while forward
Gaven Pinkley contributed 11 points, four rebounds and one assist. Guard
Kobe Campbell had eight points, three rebounds and two steals, plus, redshirt sophomore
Mikel Henderson added seven points, three rebounds, a season-high one block and one assist.
Central Missouri outscored the Tigers in second chance points 11-4, thanks to a game-high seven rebounds from redshirt junior
Garrett Luinstra (four points and three assists overall) while guard
Trey Sides ended the contest with five points and three rebounds respectively.
The Mules return to the court on Thursday, Feb. 16, as they take on the Emporia State Hornets at 7:30 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
