WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Mules (11-14, 7-12) fell to the Emporia State Hornets (19-6, 13-6) by a final score of 68-66 on Thursday, Feb. 16, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
The Mules took a two-point lead into the break but after 40 minutes of play we were all tied at 60 with a late three-pointer from Emporia State's Kaden Evans (led the Hornets with 14 points and six rebounds overall).
Central Missouri had two players finish in double figures including guard
Garrett Luinstra (game-high 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals) and redshirt sophomore
Mikel Henderson (15 points, two rebounds and two assists).
Redshirt junior
Trey Sides added nine points and three rebounds while guard
Kobe Campbell ended the contest with seven points and five rebounds respectively. Redshirt sophomore
Jordan Hayes contributed six points, two rebounds and two assists, plus, forward
Gaven Pinkley had a team-high seven rebounds, five points and two assists.
The Mules return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 18 as they host the Washburn Ichabods for Senior Day with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. from the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
