WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 3-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball dropped its first game of the season, falling to the Missouri Southern Lions, 78-66, Thursday, Dec. 14, inside the UCM Multipurpose Building.
The Jennies (8-1, 3-1 MIAA) are scheduled to host Pittsburg State (8-1, 3-1 MIAA) Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.
Brooke Littrell netted a game-high 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the floor and an 8-of-8 performance at the free-throw line while
Olivia Nelson also reached double figures with 17 points.
For the game, Central Missouri shot 41 percent from the floor, going 23-of-56, but were just 23 percent from three-point range, making just six out of 26 attempts from long range. UCM went 14-of-18 at the free-throw line (78 percent), and outrebounded Missouri Southern, 31-28. The Lions, however, outscored the Jennies in the paint, 40-26.
Missouri Southern shot 56 percent (30-for-54) from the field, 39 percent (5-for-13) from three-point range and were a perfect 13-of-13 at the foul line for the game.
Brandi Hudson had 19 points, pacing the Lions.
