No. 5 Jennies Basketball Defeats Lynn 77-57 Saturday Afternoon

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Redshirt junior Brooke Littrell contributed a game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double as the No. 5 No. 5-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies basketball team defeated the Lynn University Knights, 77-57, in the final game of the Barry University Classic at the Health & Sports Center Saturday, Nov. 25.
 
The Jennies (5-0, 0-0) are scheduled to face the Central Oklahoma Bronchos to begin conference play on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 p.m. from Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okla.
 
Littrell shot 8-of-16 from the floor, including 2-of-5 from beyond the arc and was 11-of-13 from the free-throw line for her game-high 29 points to go along with her 11 boards. It's the fourth double-double of the year for the Green City, Mo. native.
 
Olivia Nelson had 21 points going 6-of-12 from the field including 3-of-4 from three-point range, while forwards Graycen Holden (nine points and three assists) and Ashley Tull (eight points and eight rebounds) helped the Jens outscore Lynn 30-26 in the paint.
 
Guard Lauren Frost posted a season and game-high six assists, five rebounds, and three steals, plus junior Allie Clevenger contributed five points going 2-of-6 from the field including 1-of-4 from beyond the arc.
 
For the game, UCM shot 43 percent from the floor (23-of-53) and were 85 percent from the charity stripe (24-of-28). The Jennies outrebounded the Knights (3-2, 0-0), 36-29, and posted a 28-16 advantage in points off turnovers.
 
Makayla Hemingway netted 18 points, pacing Lynn in the contest.
