EMPORIA, Kan. – Five players scored in double figures lifting No. 7-ranked Central Missouri Jennies basketball to an 80-64 victory over the Emporia State Lady Hornets inside William L. White Auditorium Saturday afternoon, Jan. 7.
The Jennies (13-0, 9-0 MIAA) are scheduled to return home to the UCM Multipurpose Building to host Northeastern State Thursday, Jan. 12, at 5:30 p.m.
Brooke Littrell led UCM with 18 points on 5-of-12 shooting and a perfect 6-of-6 performance at the free-throw line while
Lauren Frost and
Graycen Holden each tallied 13 points,
Kade Hackerott added 12 points and a team-best seven rebounds, and
Olivia Nelson compiled her first double-double of the season with 10 points and a game and career-high 10 assists.
Nelson's 10 assists mark the first time since 2016 a Jenny has tallied at least 10 assists in a game.
Central Missouri shot 48 percent from the field for the game, going 23-of-48, and were a season-best 52 percent from three-point range, converting 12 out of 23 attempts. The Jennies went 22-of-26 at the free-throw line for 85 percent and outrebounded the Lady Hornets (9-6, 4-5 MIAA), 36-27.
Tre'Zure Jobe paced Emporia State with a game-high 30 points on 13-of-26 shooting from the floor.
