TOPEKA, Kan. – The Central Missouri Mules (7-7, 3-5) fell to the Washburn Ichabods (5-7, 2-4) by a final score of 55-47 on Thursday, Jan. 5, inside Lee Arena in Topeka.
The Mules took a 27-21 lead at halftime, but Washburn responded with a 16-5 run to begin the second half. The Ichabods outscored UCM 34-20 in the half led by Andrew Orr's 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists overall.
UCM had two players finish in double figures including
Kobe Campbell's 15 points, two assists and two steals; plus,
Gaven Pinkley ended the night with 10 points and five rebounds respectively. Forward
Ben Fritz had seven points and two rebounds while
Jack Chapman contributed five points and four rebounds.
Guard
Mikel Henderson contributed four points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals while redshirt junior
Garrett Luinstra added a team-high six rebounds, a team-high four assists, and three points.
The Mules return to the court on Saturday, Jan. 7, as they take on No. 20 Emporia State at 3:30 p.m. from White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.
