Mules and Jennies Track & Field Excels at UCM Invitational Friday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Missouri Mules and Jennies track & field opened the 2023 portion of its indoor schedule with numerous strong performances at the UCM Invitational Friday, Jan. 20, inside the Multipurpose Building.

UCM is scheduled to host the annual Indoor Mule Relays Friday, Jan. 27, and Saturday, Jan. 28, in Warrensburg.

Pole Vault
  • The Mules went one and three in the men's pole vault, as Jack Hodge finished first with a provisional mark of 5.15m (16-10.75) and Trey Miller took third, clearing 4.55m (14-11.00). Hodge's mark ranks eighth-best in program history and is fourth highest in NCAA Division II this season.
  • Molly Greene and Keyleigh Reichert went 2-3 in the pole vault for the Jennies. Greene cleared a mark of 3.48m (11-05.00) on her first attempt to finish second while Reichert cleared the same height on her second attempt for third place.
Jumps
  • The Jennies went 1-2-3 in the long jump, as Claire Luallen placed first with a mark of 5.56m (18-03.00), Maggie Klover finished second at 5.36m (17-07.00), and Camryn Holloman took third at 5.14m (16-10.50).
  • Cadman Evans rolls to the men's high jump title for the Mules, posting a provisional height of 2.14m (7-00.25). His height is tied for the third-best in school history as well as in NCAA-II this season.
  • Kayla Goodwin captured the high jump title, finishing first with a personal-best mark of 1.66m (5-05.25).
  • Freshman Myah Morris placed second in her first collegiate meet, posting a mark of 10.61m (34-09.75) in the triple jump.
  • Loch Louis finished third in the men's long jump, posting a jump of 6.55m (21-06.00).
Throws
  • The Jennies finished first and third in the weight throw. Rachael Molloy place first with a provisional throw of 17.79m (58-04.50) while Abby Vogel was third with a mark of 15.85m (52-0). Molloy's throw ranks fifth-best in program history.
Sprints/Hurdles
  • The Jennies went 1-2 in the 60m hurdles as Goodwin finished first with a provisional time of 8.85 and Luallen took second with a time of 8.90.
  • Like the Jennies, the Mules finished first and second in the 60m hurdles, with Parker Wormek taking the top spot with a provisional time of 8.19 and Trey Miller finishing runner-up with a time of 8.40.
  • Antonio Lay won the men's 60m dash with a provisional time of 6.79. That time ranks fourth-fastest in school history.
  • Brooklynn Holtman placed second in the 60m dash in her first collegiate meet, running a personal-best 7.93.
  • Jana Shawver ran 59.30 to capture the women's 400m dash title for the Jennies.
  • Lenetta Lee finished runner-up for the Jennies in the 200m dash, posting a time of 26.03.
Distance
  • The Mules went 1-3 in the 600-yard run, with Ethan Brickman winning the event with a time of 1:14.21 and Isaak Rasche placing third at 1:15.13.
  • UCM finished first and second in the women's one mile run as Katie Bean ran 5:19.62 to take first and Lilly Geelan went 5:29.23 for second.
  • Brian Mitei posted a time of 4:23.05 to win the men's one-mile run.
  • UCM finished third in both the men's and women's 800m run, with Hope Thiel running 2:22.70 for the Jennies and Brady Maher clocking a 2:02.19 for the Mules.
  • Holtman placed third in the women's 600-yard run with a personal-best 1:32.42.
  • Paul Korir captured the men's 3,000m run with a time of 8:47.88 while Cynthia Togom (10:41.53) and RIsper Mengich (10:51.53) finished second and third, respectively, in the women's 3,000m run.
Relays
  • The Jennies finished first and third in the women's 4x400m relay. UCM's "A" team of Thiel, Goodwin, Shawver and Holtman placed first with a combined time of 4:00.15 while the Jennies' "B" team of Luallen, Bean, Klover and Aubree Bell were third at 4:07.44.
  • In the men's 4x400m relay, the Mules "A" team of Miller, Rasche, Connor McKee and Kye Mason finished runner-up with a time of 3:25.31.
