WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Mules (8-9, 4-7) defeated the Rogers State Hillcats (9-8, 5-6) in overtime by a final score of 78-77 on Saturday, Jan. 14, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
The Mules took a six-point lead into halftime but after 40 minutes of play we were tied 64. In overtime, the Mules held off a late Hillcat comeback thanks to a trio of free throws from guard
Trey Sides who led UCM with a career-high 20 points, three rebounds, and three steals.
Central Missouri had two other players finish in double figures including forward
Ben Fritz (15 points, two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a career-high two blocks) and redshirt sophomore
Kobe Campbell, who added 14 points and four rebounds off the bench.
Forward
Jack Chapman (team-high six rebounds and a season-high five assists) and redshirt sophomore
Mikel Henderson (three assists) each contributed nine points in the overtime victory. Guard
Garrett Luinstra added four points, a season-high four steals, three rebounds, and three assists; plus, redshirt sophomore
Jordan Hayes finished the game with a team-high six rebounds and two points respectively.
The Mules return to the court on Thursday, Jan. 19, as they travel to Maryville, Mo. to take on No. 4 Northwest Missouri from Bearcat Arena at 7:30 p.m.
