KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 18 Jennies (5-4, 1-0) volleyball continued their winning ways defeating Rockhurst University (7-2, 0-0) by a final score of 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 25-17, 25-23) on Friday night inside the Mason-Halpin Field House.
In the fourth and final set of the match, three of the five lead changes took place. After an attack error from Sydney McDonald gave UCM a 24-23 advantage, redshirt sophomore
Chandler Vaughan put the set and match away with a kill. Vaughan had a match-high 36 assists adding nine digs and three kills.
Central Missouri was led offensively by redshirt junior
Kersti Nix who had a team-high 13 kills and three digs while freshman
Rachel Ziesman added 12 kills on 29 attempts for a .345 hitting percentage. On the night, the Jens outhit Rockhurst .167 to .140. Redshirt senior
Rylie Barnum had a team-high 25 digs, plus redshirt junior
Sydney Lierz registered 13 digs and six kills.
The Hawks were led by junior Kenzie Hine's double-double performance (16 kills and 14 digs) while junior Maureen Reilly had a match-high 29 digs.
The Jennies return to the court tomorrow afternoon in St. Joseph, Mo. for a conference matchup with the Missouri Western Griffons beginning at 2:00 p.m.
