- No. 19-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer (3-0-1) is scheduled to host the Missouri Southern Lions (0-3-0) in a non-MIAA match Friday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. at the South Recreation Complex before traveling to Maryville, Mo., for non-conference tilt at Northwest Missouri (3-0-1) Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m.
- The Jennies are coming off a 1-0-1 week, tying defending NCAA-II National Champion and then No. 1-ranked Grand Valley State, 2-2, Sept. 2 in Allendale, Mich., before defeating Davenport, 3-1, Sept. 4 in Caledonia, Mich.
- Through four matches, redshirt sophomore Caroline Cole leads UCM with five goals for 10 points and 17 shots on goal on 11 total shot attempts for a .647 shots on goal percentage. Julia Kristensen, Lindsay Edmonds, Macy Ruffalo, Madilyn Hamline and Kate Hermelink each have one goal, while Kristensen and Ashleigh Martin each have a team-best two assists, and Edmonds, Hamline, Andree Orcutt and Molly Ricker each have one assist.
- Cole leads the MIAA in goals and shots on goal, and is second in points, while Kristensen and Martin are tied for third in assists through four contests.
- In goal for UCM, sophomore Sydney Beck is 3-0-1 with 11 saves and six goals-allowed for a 1.50 goals-against average (GAA) in 360:00.
- Central Missouri is the preseason favorite in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Despite playing the defending national champion and previously No. 1-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers to a 2-2 draw on their home pitch in Allendale, Mich., and defeating Davenport on the road, 3-1, the Jennies slipped from No. 6 to No. 19 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Poll. Grand Valley State, after tying UCM and dropping a 1-0 decision to No. 11 Minnesota State at home, dropped just two spots from No. 1 to No. 3.

- Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 61-3-1 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 44 goals.
- All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 201-34-9 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 138-13-8 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times.

Series History
- Missouri Southern: Friday's non-conference tilt against the Lions will mark meeting 37 in the all-time series that dates back to 1999. UCM leads the series, 25-8-3, including a 12-5-2 mark in Warrensburg. Last season, the Jennies went 2-0 against Missouri Southern, winning in Joplin, Mo., 3-2, before defeating MSSU at home, 5-0.
- Northwest Missouri: Sunday's non-league contest at Northwest Missouri will be meeting 42 in the all-time series going back to 1999. Central Missouri leads the series, 33-3-5 and is 13-2-5 against the Bearcats in Maryville, Mo. UCM went 1-0-1 vs. Northwest Missouri in 2021, winning in Warrensburg, 3-0, and playing to a 2-2 draw in double overtime in Maryville.
Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Central Missouri women's soccer head coach
Lewis Theobald, now in his 15th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA, but in all of NCAA Division II.
The 10-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year, has an impressive 259-39-22 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in Jennies soccer history. He brought home the program's first ever National Championship in the 2017 season.
Theobald enters the 2022 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .843 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He also is the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is sixth all-time in all NCAA Divisions.
During his tenure, Theobald has coached 19 All-Americans and 119 All-MIAA honorees.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.
On the Horizon
UCM begins a four-match homestand with MIAA contests against Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri Sept. 16 and 18 at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
