WARRENSBURG-Mo. – In the first home match under head coach
Caitlin Peterson, the Jennies (4-4, 1-0) beat the 12
th ranked Northwest Missouri Bearcats in five sets by a final of 3-2 (25-19, 25-14, 10-25, 20-25, 15-10).
After UCM won the first two sets, Northwest Missouri fought their way back to force a fifth. With the score tied at seven, the Jens went on an 8-3 run highlighted by a .533 attack percentage and limited the Bearcats to a .000 percentage in the deciding set.
Overall, the Jens outhit Northwest .293 to .250 on the night. Reshirt junior
Kersti Nix had a match-high 20 kills including four in the final set, plus freshman
Rachel Ziesman added 12 kills.
Central Missouri had double-double performances from redshirt sophomore
Chandler Vaughan who had multiple career-highs including 53 assists and 20 digs, while redshirt junior
Sydney Lierz recorded 14 kills, 13 digs, and added a career-high six aces.

Central Missouri's next match is Friday night in Kansas City as they take on the Rockhurst Hawks beginning at 6:00 p.m.
