KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- University of Central Missouri athletics had 260 student-athletes garner MIAA Academic Honor Roll honors for their performances in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year, it was announced Thursday, June 16.

Of those 260 student-athletes, 50 earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete Honors while 40 were awarded the prestigious MIAA Academic Excellence award for posting a perfect 4.0 GPA during the year.

Fall Sports:

• Mules football: 37 Academic Honor Roll, two Academic Excellence, one Scholar-Athlete
• Jennies volleyball: 15 Academic Honor Roll, two Academic Excellence, eight Scholar Athletes
• Jennies soccer: 15 Academic Honor Roll, five Academic Excellence, five Scholar Athletes
• Jennies cross country: 13 Academic Honor Roll, three Academic Excellence, three Scholar Athletes
• Mules cross country: Two Academic Honor Roll, one Scholar-Athlete

Winter Sports:

• Jennies indoor track and field: 31 Academic Honor Roll, 10 Academic Excellence, seven Scholar Athletes
• Mules indoor track and field: 22 Academic Honor Roll, one Academic Excellence, four Scholar Athletes
• Jennies basketball: Eight Academic Honor Roll, two Academic Excellence, one Scholar-Athlete
• Mules wrestling: Six Academic Honor Roll, one Scholar-Athlete
• Mules basketball: Four Academic Honor Roll, one Scholar-Athlete

Spring Sports:

• Jennies outdoor track and field: 28 Academic Honor Roll, nine Academic Excellence, five Scholar Athletes
• Mules baseball: 27 Academic Honor Roll, three Academic Excellence, seven Scholar Athletes
• Mules outdoor track and field: 21 Academic Honor Roll, one Academic Excellence, two Scholar Athletes
• Jennies softball: 14 Academic Honor Roll, two Academic Excellence, one Scholar-Athlete
• Mules golf: 10 Academic Honor Roll, two Scholar Athletes
• Jennies golf: Seven Academic Honor Roll, one Scholar-Athlete

The requirements to be eligible for the MIAA Academic Awards are as follows:

Academic Honor Roll
a) Have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.00 at the certifying member institution.
b) Have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

Scholar-Athletes
a) Have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 3.50 at the certifying member institution.
b) Have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
c) If competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, the student-athlete must earn All-MIAA honors (score a point in the championship meet for track and field)
d) If competing in a sport without an MIAA championship, the student-athlete must either be selected to an All-Region/District team in a team sport, or qualify for the national meet in an individual sport. 

Academic Excellence Award
a) Have a cumulative grade point average used by the institution for purposes of NCAA academic certification of 4.00 or better at the certifying member institution.
b) Have at least two terms of grades reported at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.
