Leftwich, Remelius Elevated To New Roles for UCM Athletics

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Deputy Athletic Director for External Relations Joe Thuente announced on Tuesday, March 24, that Camron Leftwich has been named the new Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving for UCM Athletics, promoted from his previous position as Director of Ticket Operations. In addition, Ben Remelius has been promoted from Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions to Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Creative Content, and Digital Strategy.

Leftwich is no stranger to the Mules and Jennies, as he has been the Director of Ticketing for UCM Athletics since July of 2025 and served as the graduate assistant for the ticketing department the previous academic year. A UCM alum who continues to pursue his Master's Degree at the school, Leftwich began working at the UCM ticket office as a student worker in 2022.

In his new role as Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving, Leftwich will oversee the Cardinal and Black Fund and head several UCM Athletics annual events, including the UCM Athletics Hall of Fame, the Celebrating Central Missouri Athletics Auction, First Pitch Banquet, Legends Banquet, reunions, golf outings, and more.

"When this position opened, Camron was one of the first people we thought of as a good fit. He has certainly earned it. Cam has worked his way up from an undergraduate student worker to a GA, and then a full-time Director, and now our Assistant AD. He works hard, is a great team player, and has a passion for UCM. I am thrilled to see what he can do with this opportunity," Thuente said.

Remelius has been on campus since the summer of 2024, when he started as the Assistant AD for Marketing and Promotions. He came to UCM after a year as the Director of Marketing for the Macon Bacon Summer Collegiate Baseball Team. The University of Missouri alum writes marketing and promotions plans for all UCM sports, oversees the gameday scripts and run-of-show, and is in charge of all advertising and promotion for UCM Athletics. In his new role, Remelius will oversee all UCM social media and take a more active role in digital marketing.

"Ben has been a great addition to our staff. This promotion is really more of an emphasis on and reflection of what he is already doing, rather than a dramatic change in his role. He may be a Mizzou alum, but he has become a diehard Mule since his time here. I am excited to see what he does with his expanded role and oversight," Thuente said.

Both Leftwich and Remelius start their new roles immediately.
