Mules and Jennies Track and Field Has Strong Saturday at SBU Bearcat Invitational

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Central Missouri Mules and Jennies track and field wrapped up competition in the Southwest Baptist University Bearcat Invitational Saturday, April 2, at Plaster Stadium.

Both the Mules and Jennies finished seventh in the team standings, with the Jennies posting 57 points and the Mules 55.50 points.

Pole Vault/Jumps
  • Jack Hodge won the men's pole vault after clearing a personal-best and NCAA-II provisional height of 5.25m (17-02.75). That mark is third-best in NCAA-II this season and sixth-best in school history. Josiah Crooks also finished in the top-10 in the pole vault, clearing 4.15m (13-07.25) for eighth place.
  • In the women's long jump, Hannah VanBuskirk and Liberty Brown both notched top-10 finishes, with VanBuskirk finishing seventh after posting a mark of 5.50m (18-00.50) and Brown placing ninth with a personal-best mark of 5.41m (17-09.00).
  • Christopher Goodwin captured the men's long jump title, posting a provisional mark of 7.57m (24-10.00). His mark ranks seventh-best in school history. Carter Bell and Austin Staib also finished in the top-10 in the long jump after a jump off, with Bell placing eighth with a mark of 6.77m (22-02.50) and Staib ninth at 6.77m (22-02.50).
  • Camryn Holloman won the women's triple jump, compiling an NCAA-II provisional mark of 12.06m (39-07.00). That mark is tied for seventh-best in Division II in 2022 and ranks eighth in program history. Also finishing in the top-10 for the Jennies was Maggie Klover, who placed eighth with a mark of 11.43m (37-06.00).
Throws
  • Ashlan Burton won both the women's shot put and discus at the SBU Bearcat Invitational. Burton posted a mark of 43.44m (142-06) in the discus and an NCAA-II provisional mark of 14.65m (48-00.75) in the shot put. Her mark in the shot put is tied for the third-best in NCAA-II this season and ranks fifth in school history. Abby Vogel also finished in the top-10 in the discus, finishing seventh at 39.49m (129-07).
  • In the men's discus, Addison Snowball placed third with a mark of 48.73m (159-10). In addition, Snowball tallied a top-10 showing in the shot put, placing seventh with a throw of 14.97m (49-01.50).
Sprints/Hurdles
  • Andrew Paster placed seventh in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 15.09.
  • Emily Sporleder finished 10th in the women's 400m dash, clocking a personal-best time of 1:00.08.
  • Cameron Hesker placed third in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.544. He also posted a top-10 performance in the 200m dash, finishing fifth with a personal-best time of 21.85.
  • Connor McKee placed sixth in the 400m hurdles, clocking a personal-best time of 54.93.
Distance
  • Cynthia Togom and Mariah Elmore both finished in the top-10 of the women's 1,500m run. Togom was sixth at 4:42.12 and Elmore was eighth at 4:43.87.
  • Luke Engel placed 10th in the men's 3,000m run, clocking a time of 9:42.16 – a personal-best.
Relays Central Missouri track and field is slated to continue its outdoor season Friday, April 8, at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark.
