WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Mules (6-6, 2-4) fell to the Fort Hays State Tigers (9-3, 4-2) by a final score of 57-46 on Saturday, Dec. 31, inside the Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg.
The Tigers took a two-point advantage into halftime and limited the Mules to just 28 percent from the field in the second half including 16 percent from beyond the arc. Fort Hays State also had the edge scoring in the paint (26-20) and bench points (19-9).
UCM was led by guard
Mikel Henderson's game-high 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists while redshirt senior
Gaven Pinkley added 11 points and five rebounds. Guard
Garrett Luinstra grabbed a team-high seven rebounds while adding three assists and two points; plus, redshirt junior
Trey Sides had a career-high four steals and two points respectively.
Forward
Ben Fritz ended the contest with four points, one rebound, and one steal while forward
Mark Mayle added four points, two rebounds, and one block.
The Mules return to the court on Monday, Jan. 2, as they host the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers from the Multipurpose Building with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
