WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Caroline Cole and
Greycen Erisman each scored goals leading No. 4-ranked and top-seeded Central Missouri Jennies soccer to a 2-0 shutout win over the fourth-seeded Fort Hays State Tigers in a MIAA Women's Soccer Championship semifinal match Friday, Nov. 4, at the South Recreation Complex.
The Jennies (17-1-2) advance to the MIAA tournament championship match and will host second-seeded Emporia State (11-5-4) Sunday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg. The Hornets defeated Northwest Missouri State in the other semifinal on Friday, 1-0.
Central Missouri struck early in the contest when Cole took a feed from
Julia Kristensen and hammered the ball into the lower right corner of the net, giving UCM a 1-0 lead just 17 minutes into match. It was Cole's eighth goal and Kristensen's seventh assist of the season.
Erisman doubled the Jennies' advantage to 2-0 in the 85th minute, corralling a pass from Cole and sliding it into the middle of the net for her second goal of 2022. The assist was the sixth of the season for Cole.
For the match, Central Missouri narrowly outshot Fort Hays State (11-2-7), 8-7, including a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Sydney Beck (17-1-2) earned her ninth shutout of the season between the posts, going the full 90 and surrendering no goals while making one save.
Isabel Robben (11-2-7) took the loss in goal for the Tigers, allowing two goals and making one save in 90 minutes.
