WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Mules (1-2, 0-0) defeated the Central Methodist Eagles (2-2, 0-0) by a final score of 74-65 on Thursday, Nov. 17, inside the Multipurpose Building.
Central Methodist dictated the pace early in the contest leading by as many as six in the first half but trailed to Central Missouri at the break 35-28. In the second half, the Mules kept their offense sharp as UCM outscored the Eagles in the paint by a margin of 38-24 on the night.
Redshirt sophomore
Kobe Campbell led the Mules with a team-high 17 points and four rebounds making five of nine from the field helping the UCM bench outscore Central Methodist 28-15. Sophomore forward
Jack Chapman was also in double figures off the bench with 11 points and one rebound.
Forward
Ben Fritz (11 points, two assists, and one steal) led the Mules on the glass grabbing seven rebounds while redshirt senior
Gaven Pinkley added 12 points, six rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the victory.
Guards
Mikel Henderson (10 points, three rebounds, and one steal) and
Garrett Luinstra (five points and four rebounds) each had a game-high four assists respectively.
The Mules return to the court on Saturday, Nov. 19, as they host Mid-America Nazarene inside the Multipurpose Building, tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
