No. 5 Jennies Soccer Stomps Nebraska Kearney Friday, 3-0

KEARNEY, Neb. – Madilyn Hamline, Calynn Harbert and Lindsay Edmonds each scored goals leading fifth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer to a 3-0, shutout win at Nebraska Kearney Friday, Oct. 14, at Ron & Carol Cope Stadium at Foster Field.

The Jennies (13-1-1, 7-1 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Hays, Kan., to face No. 23-ranked Fort Hays State Sunday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m.

UCM got on the scoreboard quick, gaining a 1-0 advantage just four minutes in when Hamline controlled a cross from Julia Kristensen and powered it into the back of the net. It was Hamline's seventh goal and Kristensen's fifth assist of the season.

Harbert doubled the Jennies' lead just four minutes later, corralling a pass from Kristensen inside the box and slotting it home, making it 2-0, Central Missouri, in the eighth minute. It was Harbert's second goal and Kristensen's team-best sixth assist of 2022.

UCM kept the 2-0 lead the remainder of the opening 45 minutes to go into halftime with the two-goal advantage.

Twenty-five minutes into the second half in the 70th minute, Edmonds put an exclamation mark on the match for the Jennies, blasting a free kick from 45 yards out into the top of the net, upping the Central Missouri advantage to 3-0. It was Edmond's third goal of the season.

For the match, UCM outshot Nebraska Kearney (0-12-3, 0-6-2 MIAA), 11-3, including an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal.
