HAYS, Kan. – Fifth-ranked Central Missouri Jennies soccer played to a critical 1-1 draw against the No. 23-ranked Fort Hays State Tigers Sunday afternoon, Oct. 16, at the FHSU Soccer Stadium.
The Jennies (13-1-2, 7-1-1 MIAA) are slated to travel to St Joseph, Mo., for a conference tilt at Missouri Western (5-7-4, 3-4-2 MIAA) Friday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m.
After both teams played to a scoreless tie in the opening 45 minutes of the match, Central Missouri broke through in the 51st minute when
Madilyn Hamline scored a breakaway goal to give UCM the 1-0 lead. It was Hamline's eighth goal of the season.
Fort Hays State (9-0-7, 4-0-5 MIAA) answered 14 minutes later, however, and leveled the contest, 1-1, after Katie Puchino found the back of the net off a corner kick in the 65th minute.
Both teams were unable to score the remaining 25 minutes of the match, resulting in the 1-1 draw.
For the contest, the Tigers outshot the Jennies, 9-8, with both teams placing five shots on goal.

Sydney Beck (13-1-2) and Fort Hays State keeper Isabel Robben (9-0-7) both made four saves and allowed one goal in 90 minutes in the draw.
