WARRENSBURG-Mo. – The No. 18 Central Missouri Jennies (10-6, 5-2 MIAA) defeated the Newman Jets (7-11, 2-6 MIAA) by a final score of 3-1 (26-16, 25-18, 16-25, 25-18) inside the Multipurpose Building on Saturday, Oct. 1, to conclude Family Weekend.
After dropping the first two sets of the match, the Jets rallied in the third with an 11-3 run, led by sophomore outside hitter Rylie Daugherty's four kills and four digs (16 digs and 11 kills overall).
The Jens ended the match on a 7-3 run in the fourth highlighted by redshirt junior
Sydney Lierz' six kills and six digs (15 kills and nine digs overall). Central Missouri's offense was led by defending MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week
Kersti Nix' match-high 22 kills, while setter
Chandler Vaughan recorded a match-high 48 assists.
In the match, the Jennies outhit Newman by a .244 to .164 margin, thanks to redshirt freshman libero
