WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Kersti Nix had 15 kills and hit .414 to lift the No. 5-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team to a 3-1 win over the Pittsburg State Gorillas Thursday, Sept. 30, at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The set scores were 25-18, 22-25, 27-25 and 25-14.
The Jennies (11-2, 4-1 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Joplin, Mo., for an MIAA road match at Missouri Southern Saturday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m.
A redshirt sophomore from Overland Park, Kan., Nix reached double figure kills for the eighth time this season with her team-best 15 kills on 29 attempts and three errors for her .414 attacking percentage, while
Ally Offerdahl posted a team-best 40 assists and added 10 digs for her ninth double-double of 2021, leading UCM.
Audrey Fisher added a team-high four blocks with one block solo and three block assists and compiled three service aces, and
Rylie Barnum tallied a team-best 23 digs, respectively.
Central Missouri outhit Pittsburg State (9-5, 3-3 MIAA) in the match, .257 to .138, and posted advantages in kills (58-49), assists (51-46) and service aces (10-8).
Meg Auten had 15 kills on .182 hitting, leading the Gorillas.
