MARYVILLE, Mo. – No. 19-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies soccer team and Northwest Missouri State played to a 2-2 draw in double overtime Sunday, Sept. 26, at Bearcat Pitch in the 2021 MIAA opener for both teams.
The Jennies (6-1-1, 0-0-1 MIAA) are scheduled to host a pair of MIAA home matches at the South Recreation Complex Friday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. against Northeastern State and Sunday, Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. against Rogers State.
McKenzie Robinson and
Kassie Newsom tallied the goals for Central Missouri in the contest, with Robinson netting the first goal for UCM in the 67th-mintue and Newsom scoring the second in the 74th-minute.

Lindsey Johnson made seven saves in 110 minutes to move to 6-1-1 on the season.
Teagan Blackburn opened the scoring in the game, netting a goal a little over 30 minutes into the first half to put Northwest Missouri (4-3-1, 0-0-1 MIAA) on top, 1-0.
Robinson tied the match, 1-1, with her first goal of the season with 23 minutes to go in regulation, and Newsom gave UCM a 2-1 lead seven minutes later with her fourth goal of 2021.
The Bearcats' Adell Gore netted the tying goal for the home side in the 80th-minute, knotting the contest, 2-2.
Neither team was able to score the remaining 10 minutes of regulation, sending the contest in overtime.
Both teams had chances in the two, 10-minute extra time frames, but couldn't convert, ending the contest in the 2-2 draw.
The Jennies outshot the Bearcats in the match overall, 24-16, including a 13-9 advantage in shots on goal.
Northwest Missouri goalkeeper Alexis Serna Castillo made a match-high 11 saves in her 110 minutes in-goal, moving her record to 1-1-1 on the season.
